| The original Walk with Sunshine was inspired by Jeff Alt’s 2,160 mile trek along the Appalachian Trail in 1998 in honor of his brother, Aaron, a resident at Sunshine. The Sunshine community, inspired by Jeff’s efforts, organized a walk that same year. Their combined efforts raised $16,000, establishing the fundraiser as an annual event. Since its inception, the event has raised more than $500,000 for the people that Sunshine serves. |
